Mom’s are one of the most important people in our lives. They cared for us when we were little (and honestly people, they still care for us even as adults!), they taught us right from wrong, they hugged us when we were hurt or sad, and we wouldn’t be who we are today without them. Mother’s Day is about showing your appreciation and love for your Mom. What better way to show how much you love her than by giving her a meaningful and personal gift! It may be something physical, an experience, or maybe just a day spent with you but what’s important is how personal it is. If your mother lives for a beautiful bouquet of roses or is a chocoholic, then the typical Mother’s Day gifts of flowers and chocolate may be appropriate for your Mom. But, most Mom’s out there would rather have something that is special and that speaks to who they are. As a mother myself, I wasn’t too excited when the kids gave me a new lasagna dish for Mother’s Day (…my husband broke my old one).
You have to think about the type of Mom you have. Is she is a busy CEO who has no time for herself? Does she like to be active, always finding time for a jog or bike ride? Is she always in the garden, in the kitchen, or the bookstore? Or, is your Mom a creative person, always painting, drawing, or writing? Is she obsessed with doing DIY projects? If you don’t have any ideas about what you should get your Mom for Mother’s Day, here are some suggestions based on the type of Mom your mother is!
Some of these suggestions involve some time and pre-planning, but a lot of them are great for the last-minute gift if you just haven’t had the time to go Mother’s Day shopping!
These gift ideas are also not just for Mother’s Day either. You can get your Mom any of these gift on any other occasion like her birthday or Christmas!
